[keep your head]

[keep your head]

When reports come in of wars and rumored wars, keep your head and don’t panic. This is routine history; this is no sign of the end. Nation will fight nation and ruler fight ruler, over and over. Famines and earthquakes will occur in various places. This is nothing compared to what is coming.

Matthew 24:6-7, MSG

“This is nothing compared to what is coming.” That’s an encouraging passage… not.

It didn’t say “If you hear reports…” It says “When you hear reports…”

But there’s an advice in the beginning that is especially valid for those who reads the news these days.

Keep your head and don’t panic.

There is war and warlike actions taking place in Eastern Ukraine, Israel, Missouri, and in many other places around the world.

However, this is nothing new. This has happened before and even in worse ways.

It’s hard not to panic sometimes, especially in the days when the major war is taking place among the information sources. This information war is scarier than a usual one because you don’t know which resource to believe because they all are biased towards one side or another. It’s impossible to dryly describe the events because people are dying.

But… don’t panic.

Keep your head.

Trust God.

That’s a reminder for myself. A reminder to take a deep breath and thank God for the blessings He sends even amidst all the turmoil.

  • Can you hear it? I can. That is the sound of all the doomsdayers telling us their prophecies. As if I didn’t know things were getting worse. And they are getting worse because Jesus said they would. But I don’t need some whack job telling me to head for the hills. Good article sis. Calm heads need to prevail more than they do.
