[Book Review: Stress Test by Richard L. Mabry]

[Book Review: Stress Test by Richard L. Mabry]

It was interesting to read a new fiction author because lately I have been catching up on the works by the authors I’ve read already. After reading Stress Test, I think I will be on lookout to read more of his books.

_240_360_Book.830.coverDr. Matt Newman just wanted a change in his life. He thought he would bring the necessary change by changing jobs from being on-call surgeon to being a faculty member. However, even the best plans go awry and this is an understatement for Matt Newman. In one day, his life gets upside down and he is left to figure out what on earth is he going to do and how will he get out of the situation.

I really enjoyed this book and the way it was written: the characters, the plot, the pace.

It took me a bit over a week to read it but that was because I had only limited reading time during my morning and evening commute. Otherwise, I could not put the book down. When I read, it becomes very real to me, so in a way I was going through a stress test myself. Trying to figure out who was the main evil guy, dealing with the break-up (and betrayal), wondering why it all happened at all… Not to mention Matt’s faith issues.

The end of the book did not disappoint either. I was afraid it would end rather predictably, but… well… I did not predict this. šŸ˜€

So if you enjoy somewhat medical books, suspense, and drama, it’s a really good book.
