[songs that matter – even if]

[songs that matter – even if]

My “Big Brother” Bill wrote about this song today.

I fell out of the Christian music news for a while  – just listened to what I had – but it turns out that one of my favorite bands, Kutless, has a new album out.

I listened to the song at Bill’s blog and just sat there in silence, thinking about its message.

Here are the lyrics… I could only nod in agreement, thinking of my own friends and relatives who were hurt by the health / wealth “un-gospel”… who were told that the reason they’ve got cancer is because their faith is not strong enough… who were told that the reason they are poor is that they are not praying hard enough.

Sometimes all we have to hold on to is what we know is true of who You are. So when the heartache hits like a hurricane – that could never change who You are and we trust in who You are.

Even if the healing doesn’t come and life falls apart and dreams are still undone… You are God, You are good, forever faithful One… even if the healing, even if the healing doesn’t come.

Lord we know your ways are not our ways so we set our faith in who You are. Even though You reign high above us, You tenderly love us. We know Your heart and we rest in who You are.

You’re still the Great and Mighty One, we trust You always. You’re working all things for our good, we’ll sing your praise.

You are God and we will bless You as the Good and Faithful One.

You are God and we will bless You, even if the healing doesn’t come… even if the healing doesn’t come.

And here Jon, the frontman, talks about this song.

What do we do when the answer is “No”?

  • Lil sis: I am humbled that you would mention my post.  Truly.  It was one of those that sort of flowed out of my fingers. Anyway, where was I?  Oh yeah.  I think it is easier to handle a “no” than a “wait awhile.”  Least I know the answer.  Doesn’t make it any easier but…The thing is: even if I get a “no” answer, I KNOW God is still God and He does/knows what is best.  He has never promised every thing I want; only what I need (according to Him).  Thanks again for mentioning my post.  That is one powerful song.  Perhaps your aunt/sister will read it??

    • 🙂 It was (is) a very thought-provoking post.

True – waiting is tougher than coming to terms with the fact that it’s not going to happen… I guess hope gets in the way there… Waiting doesn’t mean that you’ll get what you asked for in the end… *Sigh*

  • Struggling with a “No” right now. Thanks for these words.

  • Beautiful words.

    • Yes, Kutless have a gift to convey the message clearly and passionately.
