[experiences]

Every experience we get in our life is worth something.

Some experiences are amazing – you wish that they would just continue forever.

Some experiences are not so amazing – when you wish that what happened never happened at all or at least not to you.

However, this life that we’re living right now in the world we’re living in will never be filled with only amazing experiences. Simply because the world we’ve got at the moment is far from perfect, far from what it was supposed to be “in the beginning.”

[The missionary] told me that my past was not something God wanted to amputate. He wanted to cast a new light on it so that my life could have a new meaning. He wanted to restore it so it would become useful to Him and to others. If I tried to deny that shadow in my life, the truth of it would be useful to no one.

KISS by Ted Dekker and Erin Healy

It is my prayer that the new experiences that I am living every day will one day help me to relate better to those who are facing similar situations, or those who are facing the situations that are far worse than anything I can imagine.

And whatever happens… I am thankful that God sends His angels (who sometimes hide among friends and family) to be those beacons of warm light shining the way through the storm… and to be the warm hands that wrap me in a hug and tell me that it’s going to be okay and that this too shall pass.

I want to be like that, too.

  • Love the quote from Dekker and Healy. Powerful! And wonderful post Zee. Love that you are growing through the new experiences. 🙂
    My recent post Dreamers

    • yeah, that entire book was really good – lots of powerful quotes and thoughts.

there's no real choice to learn – either you learn and grow or you stagnate… the latter is not attractive, so it's not an option 🙂
