[5-minute-friday: on waiting]

The 5-minute-Friday is here. This time around the theme is “waiting.”

Here’s how the game works: you simply stop, drop and write. Set your words free. Don’t edit them, don’t fret over them, don’t try to make them perfect.

If you want to play along, come over to Lisa-Jo’s blog and link up.

START.

Waiting. I wondered about that just a few days ago and once again found myself whining before God.

“When?”

Like a little kid without a clear perception of time, I don’t like to wait to get something. I want it when I want it.

Yet He knows. It amazes me how much He knows (my mind can’t even fanthom the fact that He knows everything… for now that is just way too much for my brain to process, yet I know that He knows quite a lot… and that “a lot” keeps increasing every moment of my days). But I know He knows – and I do trust His timing even though I complain about it sometimes… okay, often.

I keep wondering… “Maybe I am doing something wrong, why is something I am waiting for isn’t coming?” The sweet thing is that when those thoughts enter my mind, He sends reminders of the fact that the time just isn’t right, but it shall come.

Who knows, maybe 10 years from now, I shall be re-reading my own posts, and laughing at myself, “Silly you. It was just around the corner – there was no need to complain and whine. ”

STOP.

What are your thoughts on Waiting?

  • My thoughts? I don't like it but know i have to even though i get frustrated. i also know that he knows best and someday i will understand.

    • *HUG*

Someday we'll be able to look back at our life and wonder "Why were we so impatient?"

  • It is in the waiting that I see myself more childish than child-like.

  • "I want it when I want it" – oh yes, me too. How familiar that sounds! And the irony, of course, is that it's really the wait that makes what we want so special. If we got everything immediately, I think it would lose some of its special flavor. Funny how that works out!

Love seeing you in the 5 minute fun, Zenichka!

    Love Liza xoxo
